We at Paws & Claws Pet Medical Center care for a variety of animals, including:
Birds (including chickens)
We are happy to see your fuzzy, feathery, and scaly friends. Our appointments for exotic animals are 45 minutes to ensure we have enough time to fully evaluate the housing and nutrition of your pet. We work hard to have the appropriate equipment for treating exotics. We will help you with any problems your pet may encounter, and can refer you to an exotics specialist if your pet requires advanced treatment.
At Paws & Claws Pet Medical Center in Troutdale, we pride ourselves on the level of commitment and care that we provide to your pets. We see a whole variety of different pets including birds, pocket pets and exotic pets in addition to cats and dogs. An avian vet or exotic vet at our clinic would be happy to help you keep your pets healthy and happy all year long.
Each of the veterinarians at our veterinary hospital has pledged to care for your pets as though it were their very own. That means that you will get state-of-the-art treatment, answers to all your questions and an environment that is kind and caring toward your pet.
We treat such a wide array of small animals that every time you come to visit you are likely to see some wonderful animals in the waiting room. Below you will find a list of some of the animals we treat and some of their common illnesses.
Man's best friend is susceptible to a variety of illnesses and diseases that are mostly preventable. Always follow the recommendation of our veterinarian to keep your dog fully immunized; regular check-ups will ensure that your dog stays happy and healthy. Do not forget flea, tick and heartworm prevention medication.
Immunizations are as important to cats as they are to dogs. Feline leukemia and other cat related diseases are easily prevented with regular vaccinations. Talk to our veterinary staff about heartworm prevention if your cat is outdoors during the spring and summer. Schedule yearly visits with our veterinarian for a check-up to make sure that your cat stays healthy all year long.
Reptiles are less than common pets but ones that deserve as much care as any others. From snakes to iguanas, an exotic vet at our clinic in Troutdale can take care of their needs. The vet will do regular fecal exams to make sure your scaly pet is parasite and worm free. Additionally, we can provide information on housing needs that will fluctuate depending on weather you have a gecko, snake, or water dragon.
From ferrets to hamsters and birds, these cute little pets also require regular check-ups at our veterinary hospital. Small pets such as these are prone to getting ear mites and a variety of other illnesses like cancer and adrenal disease. An avian vet at our clinic can ensure that your bird, even your chickens, stay healthy and parasite free
