Welcome to Paws & Claws Pet Medical Center. We are a family-owned practice, dedicated to serving pets in the communities of Troutdale, Gresham and the surrounding areas. Our services include care for traditional pets, like cats and dogs, as well as care for exotic animals and pocket pets. We can care for your pet’s dental needs, vaccination protection, surgical procedures, diagnostic needs, spay and neuter care and more. Our patients frequently schedule regular wellness exams for preventative care, but we are also are here for your pet emergencies or health questions.
We know when your pet suffers, you suffer as well. Our team cares for your pets like they are our own, working to save lives, minimize discomfort and prevent health problems. If you are looking for the right place to bring your furry (or scaly or feathery!) friend, we hope you will consider making the call to Paws & Claws.
Our pet medical center started out as a house call service by veterinarian Dr. Ken DeRemer in 1983. Our services expanded to facility-based care when the Troutdale pet hospital was opened in 1994. Working over the years to build a solid reputation of professional vet care in the Troutdale and Gresham pet communities, we have added veterinarians Chritina Huntsinger and Monica Pollock to our talented team.
The focus of our vet team is based on family-oriented care and true love for all animals. Knowledge, compassion, medical experience and up-to-date technology are just a few of the important factors that help us provide quality care for your pets.
A major part of our services include routine procedures and treatments to keep your pet in good health. Our regular exams for overall health and oral health look for the most common problems your pet is likely to face due to lifestyle, age and breed. Most pet owners don’t realize that over 82% of dogs suffer from oral disease by the age of 3, causing serious infections, tooth loss and chewing discomfort.
We offer vaccination services and spay neuter procedures to keep your pet healthy and prevent harm to the animal community through disease or overpopulation. Unwanted puppies and kittens fill the shelters each year, so we encourage pet owners to be responsible for the reproduction activity of their own pet. We also offer microchipping services to help reunite you with your pet if you are ever lost or separated.
While you might work hard to prevent disease, injury and health problems for your pet, the unthinkable sometimes happens. When you are facing a pet emergency, we are here to help guide you through the treatment process with educated advice. We provide an on-call veterinary during clinic hours and work closely with a 24-hour clinic for patients needing immediate medical care after hours.
Call us today for responsible care and committed professionals who want the best for both you and your pet. We look forward to serving you and your pet with excellence and compassion!
